The Background
Once upon a time, there were two young people who fell in love. While they were happy in their lives together, they knew that they would never be fulfilled without a dog. So one fateful day, they took a trip to the local Humane Society and found the cutest little white furball of a dog. Although they thought it might have some shepherd in it, no one really knew what breed the little guy was. It didn’t matter….he went home with the young couple.
After much discussion, they named their puffball dog Riley. Riley grew quickly and started to develop quite a personality, as dogs do. And as happens, Riley earned himself quite a few nicknames over the years. First, he was PoopDog (for obvious reasons), then he started acting goofy and doing odd dog things and earned the nickname Foobar (FUBAR), which turned into Foobs / Fooby. He was also known most affectionately as the Dorkdog.
Dorkdog, as he was mostly commonly referred to, was indeed a loyal and loving companion for the young couple. He endured moves, a marriage and even children. He was loving and loved to run and play. He was a good dog.
While the young couple grew older, the internet began to get more popular and the couple made their foray into the web. The girl was very much into her hobby of scrapbooking and wanted a place to share her projects with people and family, so they decided to make a website. Dorkdog was very much their “child” at the time, and it seemed only fitting to name their first website after him. Thus, Dorkdog.com was born.
Dorkdog.com has gone through many transformations over the years – from scrapbooks, to babies, to what it is today – a photo gallery of our lifes, as they are happening.
Current Information
Dorkdog.com is now a place where we share snippets of our lives via pictures and videos.
Matthew is 7 and just finished 2nd grade. Preston is 5 and just finished Kindergarten. They are both active in sports (Soccer and Baseball), playing outside, drawing and reading (as well as all of that other boy stuff). They are amazing and crazy and the very reason why there is never a dull moment in our life.
